Offices, Bananas and Fallon

Today saw us bright and early on Fallon's doorstep, eager and waiting to show our work to Chris and John, the lads behind Skoda Bake, Budweiser Popcorn and The List. It took quite a while to see them but it was well worth the wait – we appreciate them making time for us. The guys are super friendly and gave us some solid advice, we’ll be snapping up their words of wisdom and will get in there to show that we mean business.

We also got to see Fallon's new offices on Great Titchfield Street which they moved to just this week. They're pretty impressive granted there are a few missing floor boards and many a builders bum about. Although we haven’t seen the other floors, the creatives have got it quite nice, very spacious and lots of new furnishings to get marker pens on.

The List

We got our hands on a nice little List. It contains the best strategies, young creatives used in their portfolios. Some might recall it, as it's been around for some time now. John & Chris, now a creative team at Fallon, collated this List back in the day, when they used to teach D&AD and Miami Ad School classes. Some of these ideas are pretty fucking great. There's hardly need to see the executions, you get it immediately – and feel the envy. As John & Chris say, all of the guys who made it on the List have jobs now.

For us, it makes a great test. Reduce the campaigns in our book to one line and see, which of them could make it on the List. A relentless way to judge an idea. See for yourselves – could you make it on the List?

Another one

Looks very much like Fallon likes the 14th of April, two strikes on one day. Don't think we'll get that track out of our heads today. This new Budweiser spot is directed by Harmony Korine, it's the second spot for him, the first one was already gorgeous (Thorntons 'Stuck') and one of our favourites from last year. Creative Kudos to John Allison and Chris Bovill for this great choice and spot.

Sony Foam City

Fallon's spoiling us, the waiting has ended. We do like the Sony spot way more than the Cadbury Trucks commercial.

Visiting Fallon

After harrassing Fallons creatives for one and a half weeks they invited us to come around and show them our work.

Preparing for this visit today, we spent the last couple of days getting our book together in a good shape. We spent our lunch time yesterday to check out London Graphic Center, Brodie's Portfolios and Cowling and Wilcox to have a look at books and that. After considering all options we decided to drop the book idea, instead we bought a chic black box. We printed off all our work at iris, our beloved agency (thanks!) and mounted it on 400g white card. We love the look. And Fallon? Well, they liked it so much so that they kept it to show their creative director. Fingers crossed! The downside of it: We have to print off everything again and get another book / box 'cause we're visiting VCCP tomorrow – no lunch, again. We don't mind starving though, at least when we get the chance to meet nice people.
