That would be cool if they actually worked as placement coupons. Every time you don't get a job at a place (but they still like you) they could give you a token for a placement at an agency of equal or lesser value.
That's right Anon (although that's kind creepy you know what, unless you just clicked on my name link like the other Anon should have bothered to do). I also went to university with Jai and Wal so I haven't come from anywhere, I've always been here.
Whatever. Enjoy your anonymity. Think I'll keep commenting though. Sorry about that. Don't see what your problem is, I've made about 4 coments on this blog this year. Hardly a troll am I?!
On topic: good luck with the next placement Wal and Jai.
Leave Wally alone for a sec. There's plenty of things to slag off these days. Lunar's being a whimp, the weather or what about that Fallon's ASDA turd? Pick one.
Wal, you have to be more discerning if you intend to get a job. That ASDA ad is rubbish. The director choice is purely self indulgence. I know one eyed blokes who could have shot that better. Wait, I take that back, NO ONE could have shot that script in a half decent way.
Seriously mate, you better remove that comment of yours you don't want a CD reading it.
You know what I love about Wal & Jai? That they put up with the crap some of you lot write. I often wonder just how fruitless some of the anonymous "contributors" lives must be for them to come on here so often, only to put down these guys who are doing all they can (and with a fine amount of personality and fervour, I might add) to chase their dream.
Hats off to you - keep up the good work! One day in the not too distant future you'll come on here and give your critics the big two-fingered salute : )
But it also proves that Wal isn't a sheep. Each to their own and all that - there's nothing creative about everyone being the same. Fair enough, the majority rules it a shit ad. But somebody had to like it for it to air (yes, I know a client liking something doesn't tend to say much for it), and clearly Wal sides with that.
I say a big WHOOP to Wal not giving a shit what people might think of him for saying he likes it - that takes guts, and that's exactly what us advertising lot need to make it in this business : )
here, here, everyone loves this blog, the haters need to stay at home. Get on with your biz wal, we love you! however hayley is incredibly annoying! jeez women!
Wal is only saying he likes it because he surely is licking someone's arse at fallon. That's the exact opposite of having guts.
It takes more guts to say "Look mate, I do want a job at Fallon but I have to be honest, that ad is not that great. Sorry, it just isn't".
Why would a CD would hire someone who celebrates mediocrity?
That's not being a sheep. It's called forming a judgement and the fact that you don't get doesn't say the best things about yours, Hayley.
Anyone can have ideas. Millions of them. It takes real talent to pick what's brilliant and what's not. It can be harsh but you have to ruthless with mediocrity.
the spot is 30 second of product demonstration, and you don't realize it until the end. it's packed with emotions – it's fun to watch those kids getting serious over the tug o war, their face expressions are ace.
it's not gorilla, nor cake, but it's a great spot for ASDA.
Hahaha you guys are really quite sad. Is it really so impossible for Wal to have an opinion based purely on what he thinks, and not on whether the bigwigs at Fallon will like what he says? He is being honest and upfront, full well knowing you guys will slate him for it. So hate me all you want for sticking up for him, but nobody asks you morons to come on here every day just to piss people off. If you have nothing constructive to say then stop wasting your's and everyone else's time.
I do apologise for being female and stating an opinion. Clearly you're still living in the 20th century and can't deal with real women who actually have brains.

So there.
shame, because you are extremely annoying!

hey everybody leave 'happy thought' alone! im sure he's a nice guy, and he's blog is pretty cool too!
haha, genius reply!
It's all a little heated... Curious as to the anon response at 05:18 though...rude i'd imagine if it was deleted...
All over some gold coins... money does strange things to people...
in a nutshell, you need some manners anonymous.
oooooooooooooooo, wal's getting mad. Well you know what it's like with these blogs, you're putting yourself out there to get slagged off wally.
i'm having a great day, not mad at all.
Leave Wally alone for a sec.

Mix em all together and what do you get?
A Wally whimp turd, nice, real nice.
i rather like the new asda spot. great choice of director when you think about those kids looking all serious.
On another subject, wal, you've got really fat little fingers haven't you?
Jesus give the guy a break...

Well Hayley, it IS a shit ad you can deny it. Liking it only shows poor judgement.

Man the haters are out today mate! Keep fighting the good fight though. This is still one of the best alternate bLogs adland has!
Seems a lot of Ad bLogs would be a lot nicer if all the Anonymouses were banned. Think that speaks for itself.

Even if Shane Meadows is behind it.
Peace.

have to say I'm a tad disappointed, Wally.

Do one hayley.
Do one hayley.
Do I have to "do one" twice?
