But you must be in a very privileged position if you can afford not to work and study abroad - and surely there's the danger that the longer you study the greater the danger of being the oldest junior art director in town.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35498698.post-5219405055993942022009-06-22T03:42:20.773-06:002009-06-22T03:42:20.773-06:00Money in Wal land doesn't come first. You're a very good AD but for some reason you haven't got yourself a job (yet!)

I don't think your best plan would be to do another course. I'm confident you'll do very well at it, as you have done all your other creative courses, but come the end you'll be in pretty much the same position now.

I might add, you've got to really want to work in digital not just think, it's easier to get a job, or it's the way things are going so I best do that. I've got the perception you've quite like traditional advertising, much more so than digital.

You clearly enjoy what you do, and that'll get you a long way. If a course in Sweden is what you really want, I hope you get it.

Keep looking for a good copywriter too. If you can save yourself time studying and get in the actual ad industry, it'd be better for you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35498698.post-91021326742247827082009-06-20T12:40:57.485-06:002009-06-20T12:40:57.485-06:00he/she said it 'won't' work in Sweden ...he/she said it 'won't' work in Sweden Wal!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35498698.post-89508062040292093752009-06-19T13:45:34.156-06:002009-06-19T13:45:34.156-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06233390064850757581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35498698.post-41260086160865295472009-06-19T09:58:57.808-06:002009-06-19T09:58:57.808-06:00Wal, you rock my world.

I think like the above comments, specialising in digital and being taught through agencies will give you a great advantage when you return.

From looking at Hyper Island website, they seem very successful and on top of the digital game.

As for WK Platform. I was going to apply myself, but its not a team thing. So its a no to leaving my poor partner for 6 months if i got on and he didn't and vice a versa.

Good luck with the next part of your journey. The Idea Bakeryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17465435948863248900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35498698.post-58321465998169449472009-06-17T13:39:57.215-06:002009-06-17T13:39:57.215-06:00Hyper Island sounds like a great opportunity - ano...Hyper Island sounds like a great opportunity - another country and another string to the bow could be just what you need. As Ferris said, London in a year's time should hopefully be a much better picture for creatives. All depends whether your love of London will allow you to spread your wings a little and try something new for a year. One thing's for sure - nobody can accuse you of not being a trooper throughout it all! Wish you all the best for whatever you do decide upon!Hayleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16521147513697839474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35498698.post-87711989253199340362009-06-17T12:30:09.715-06:002009-06-17T12:30:09.715-06:00Hey Mr Wal. I was gonna say that doing a post-grad course was pointless given your experience, but perhaps doing a course as specialized as Hyper Island may be a good idea. I would say that finding a new partner and cracking on with the placement thing would be what I'd do, but maybe do the Hyper Island thing and keep your fingers crossed that the industry picks up back in London. But of course, the w+k would be brilliant but a longer shot by the sounds of it. It's a tough decision, but keep smiling and look at it simply as the next stage. Come and have a chat if you like. Good luck dude.Ferrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08392430765351240151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35498698.post-31841987806654853612009-06-17T12:15:44.910-06:002009-06-17T12:15:44.910-06:00"looking for a new creative partner and get a..."looking for a new creative partner and get a first placement and turn it into a permanent job"

You gotta be joking me.
