Hope you had a good un mate...ignore the guys who live with their mums and cut their own hair who leave crap but would miss the blog if you were to stop!
Preferred your previous branding - perhaps it's just a style I got used to and associated it to you Wal (& partner, when it changes)
I'd stick to one brand and go with it, whether it be the hats or not. Any thoughts behind why hats? There certainly doesn't have to be but wondered if there was.
Look forward to hearing the results of your night at Cream and comments from the people 'in the know'
I think a problem you may have is that this all appears to be about Wal, whereas you're meant to be a team not reliant of previous work...
It should be 'Jai & Wal' You'll be employed as a team and need to work as one. I'm sure you are, but everyone, well most on your blog seem to count Wal on his own as one and the same as team Jai & Wal, or whoever his partner is a the time...
What is Jai adding to your career? Once you both figure that out, use it and make it work for you. It's not coming across at the moment. It might help your blogging fans if Jai contributed a little more on here, saying that it not 'us' that matters but the CD's that you already seem to be impressing (presumably as a team)
Happy Happy Wal...so now we get to find out how old you are, I don't see a lot of candles on the cupcake.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing 24?

Happy Birthday Wal.
ReplyDeleteHappy 50th Wal. Here's to another 50!
ReplyDeleteHappy 26 years outside advertising.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, now go get a hair cut and shave that thing of your face! You big ball of loveliness!
ReplyDeletewow. Even on the birthday there's a bit of hate going on. Even if it is a bit more subtle today.
ReplyDeleteGot to admire the dedication I guess...
Hope you had a good un mate...ignore the guys who live with their mums and cut their own hair who leave crap but would miss the blog if you were to stop!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good one and plenty of celebrating was done - here's for a fun filled year ahead and that all illusive job!

Best of luck!
I think the hat is a thinking cap - on blank paper (scamping)???!!! That's my take out...
ReplyDeleteyep nice cliche!
ReplyDeleteBig shout out to Wal for making the cover of Campaign today...
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen it, but if true - congrats!
ReplyDeleteFront cover? Is it to announce a job?
ReplyDeleteSurely if there was such big news, firstly Jai & Wal will have mentioned it in some way, and secondly we'd all know by now!
ReplyDeleteFront cover news is hardly discrete! I've a feeling it's someone being ironic, I'll have to get my hands on a copy of Campaign I guess.
Your new brand ID I'm afriad is looking bland - even if not to everyone's taste the flowers were so much better lads.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone who's still in the dark, Wal isn't on the front cover of campaign. It's a hark back to a joke that was on Scamp a while ago.
ReplyDeleteI had to admit when I saw it I laughed. Sorry mate!

ReplyDeleteHamlet - the mild cigar!?
ReplyDeleteWhat was the joke Matt?
ReplyDeleteI've seen the link - is that the joke? 'tis a look-a-likee of Wal I must admit...
exactly, i'm in campaign on the front page today, well, not me but the hamlet ad i did back in 1967 on placement at CDP.
ReplyDeleteYou're older than you look Wal! :) Must be reaching retirement age next Sept 30th!!!
ReplyDeleteA claim to fame for now though Wal until you truly make the front page of campaign on your own merits.

yes whichever anonymous dude knows my name, there was a joke on scamps blog a while back mentioning that the hamlet cigar guy looks a bit like Wal.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, Wal takes this with good grace. Therefore the joke continues.
Wonder who it was that posted the lookalike - some genius probably.
ReplyDelete;)
Clever you see!
