Continue, don't stop

This is for a good friend of mine. He chased his dream, but he failed to grasp it at the last second. I hope he gets his thoughts together and won't give up. Learn from failure. I do. I had a bookcrit at W+K on Thursday, it went okay. Okay in a bad way. If you're there you don't want it to be OK, you want it to be fucking great. No one can help you with that, it's up to you, and you have to sweat for it.

Hey, Life's too good to be sad about. There are always opportunities. Everywhere. Whatever you do, it's a step forward. Only when you stop doing, that's when you move backward.

  1. Sometimes betwenn having a dream & seing a dream is so big that you thought it would be easy. It's always hard... bad but true. We never give up though! We are still Alive!

  3. Hey man, we've all had mediocre book crits at Wieden's, don't get too down, they're the best agency in the world and you're just starting out. Bad and good book crits always help you no matter what, just take it as continuing to learn. Keep up the good blogs!

  8. Always remember that success is 99% failure. Or as Beckett has put it: try again, fail again, fail better.

  18. Anything is better than nothing :)

Perhaps you should publish a copy of it on here once you get it tonight...

If you wanted one yourself, you do know it's sold in shops like WHSmith - you don't have to subscribe to it.

  19. Yepp. thats right. Will put it here, unless it's not in the 'and ont thing we don't like...' section :D

Sure i know that WHSmith has it, frankly I want to save the money since my flatmate is bringing his copy from work in a couple of hours anyway.

  20. Where's your flat mate working? Just on the job front, could you get in on placement there? He/she could put in a good word for you, and then you and your work can do the rest... unless you wouldn't want to work there that is.

  21. my flatmate describes the agency he works at, as 'the place where old and thin ideas come to die'. this seriously scares me :)

  22. oh dear :(

Perhaps not the ideal place to work then... How come he's still working there? Sure its a job, but doesn't sound like it'll be great work by that comment.

I'll try and avoid that place. I'll look out for old and thin, even tired ideas floating around.
